Relations will improve ‘when you change prime ministers,' according to senior Mexican official.
A senior Mexican senator and former foreign affairs minister yesterday called Canada's visa controls on Mexico a humiliation and questioned whether Canadian-Mexican relations will improve as long as Stephen Harper is Prime Minister.
In a blunt speech to a Toronto business and academic gathering, Senator Rosario Green Macias detailed the information she was required to provide to the Canadian government to enter Canada – proof of property ownership, her last six bank statements, a letter from the Mexican senate stating she is a senator and personal information about other members of her family.
“That has to stop,” said Ms. Green, who is president of the external relations commission of Mexico's senate, an academic, a former secretary-general of Mexico's Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and a one-time senior United Nations official as well as diplomat and cabinet minister.
She wore a silk scarf with a Mountie emblem, a gift from her daughter who attended private school in Quebec's Eastern Townships.
She repeatedly told her audience that the Mexican-Canada relationship is troubled. Twice she used the word “humiliating” to describe Canada's visa controls, linking them to the wall – which she also called a humiliation – that the United States is building along the U.S.-Mexican border to keep out illegal migrant Mexicans.
Later, talking to journalists, she said the relationship will improve “when you change prime ministers,” then realized what she'd said and asked not to be quoted.
The two journalists who heard her did not give her that assurance and Ms. Green did not press her request.
Canada imposed visa requirements on Mexicans in July after a huge upsurge in the number of Mexicans arriving in Canada and claiming refugee status.
Ottawa said most of the claims were bogus and had been orchestrated by unscrupulous Mexican firms giving advice on how to take advantage of Canada's asylum system.
They were blocking the Canadian refugee assessment process, said Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney.
Ms. Green, who spoke at the launch of a joint forum by Mexican and Canadian non-government policy institutes to improve relations between the two countries, said the Canadian government first should have proposed a study with the Mexican government to resolve the problem before suddenly imposing visas.
Mexico, she said, was working on curbing illegal migrants.
She criticized the media's portrait of Mexico as nothing more than a society of illegal migration, drugs and violence, and she said her fellow citizens found it amazing that Mexican asylum seekers in Canada were claiming their government couldn't protect them from the drug wars and corrupt and abusive security forces.
Ms. Green also said the North American free-trade agreement should be re-launched with a new attitude that recognized Mexico as an equal partner with Canada and the U.S. and not as an irritant.
On Monday, Bill Graham, Canada's former foreign affairs minister, will speak in Mexico City on the bilateral relationship. The forum is sponsored by the Canadian Foundation for the Americas (FOCAL) and the Consejo Mexicano de Asuntos Internacionales (COMEXI).

I worked 30 years on the Mexico-US border and everything Ms. Green said is a bunch of political rhetoric. Mexico has got so used to playing the victim card that they now feel entitled to infringe upon and even dictate how other governments should perceive illegal Mexican immigrants.
Mexico has been %26quot;working%26quot; to curve their illegal immigrant problem for the last 50 years and it has only gotten worse. Could it be the fact that illegals and resident aliens in the US alone send approximately 7 BILLION dollars per year to Mexico to help support their families there.
The amount of monies sent to Mexico on a yearly basis by illegals as well as legal residents in the US surpasses the amount Mexico makes from their tourism and even their oil exports.

And to have to comply with them would be kind of humiliating to Mexican -or any other- government. Abbusive lazy boyfriend?
so im 20 my bf is 30, we have a 3yr old, a 1 yr old and im due to have number 3 in a few weeks, i got postnatal depression with both kids and likely to get it again, neither of us work, i applyed for jobs before number 3 stopped me wrking but to no avail, anyway, my daily routine is to get up around 5-8 (depending on kids) ill make em breakfast, change them and give them their basic needs like potty training ect, and by 10-11am i begin 2 get pissed off that my bf is still asleep on the sofa whilst im trying to have a wash, clean my kitchen and look after the children. i make them lunch then play with them and do the daily nappies occasionlly he'l change a nappy after getting up between 10-12. then i either have to go get shopping or if not i usually take the kids out out of bordem, come home start cooking dinner, feed them and have them ready for bed between 7 for yungest and 8 for the eldest. Although he gets up at 12ish and changes a few nappies maybe does the washing up or takes out the bin, i get anoyed that no matter how tired i am from pregnancy he wont let me rest or he just falls akip on the sofa
i usually get a bit pis*ed off and i can start arguements which r usually, so u think its ok to leave me coping with a screaming child and potty train another and do housewrk at the sametime.
he calls me a fat lazy slob, i was a size 8 (UK) and in the 8th mnth of prgnancy im a size12, he tells me that i should go and eat cake and chocolate which is a rare treat in my home and its come to a point were i feel i cant tell him ive bought it in case he calls me fat, he breaks or hides my things when we argue which i sometimes do retaliate and do the same thing, i.e ill put his fags somewhere n not tell him
hes hit me a few times and police have been called other times when we've faught ive hit him back, i cant deal with it, but because of joint council tenancy i have no right to remove him from family home, i have no-were to go, no money ect. nor does he, i really dont know what to do, he's not changed other than violence since i met him but we didnt have children then, i was 16 wen we met and he calls me a slut for having 3 kids but they are all his, ive only ever had 3 sexual partners him being the 3rd!Abbusive lazy boyfriend?

I didn't read you whole book. I can tell you how horrible this person is but I have a doubt you will listen to me. you are the one with him and you have realized this on your own but won't do anything about it for some reason.
obviously you get something out of being with this guy. there is something about him that are are still attracted to otherwise you would have gotten rid of him before you had 3 kids with him.
I find it sad when I hear about women like you who have no backbone and refuse to stand up for themselves. There are probably several men in your life that are genuine gentlemen but you would never give them a chance because their lack of abuse for you comes off as being week.

Has the mandate on base housing at Kadena AB (Japan) been lifted yet?
We're moving there in 2 months and I'm just now reading about this mandate they began enforcing last year. Does anyone know if they've lifted it yet? I've had about as much of base housing as I can stand.

If Obama is sworn in as President, we will file a Petition for Writ of %26039;Quo Warranto,%26039; a case that will challenge Obama as being ineligible to serve as President because he is %26039;not qualified.%26039;
Berg states %26039;if Soetoro a/k/a Obama is sworn in%26039; because Obama knows he is %26039;not qualified%26039; and he should hold a Press Conference and Obama should state that I, as a black American, received more votes than anyone else on November 4, 2008 for President and on January 8, 2009 the Joint Session of Congress counted the Electoral College votes and announced that I am President-elect, but because of things in my background, I cannot be sworn in as President. However, Obama is not man enough to state the above!
More and more people are aware of the fact that Obama does not meet the constitutional %26039;qualifications%26039; for President. When the truth finally comes out, individuals including Barack Hussein Obama, Michelle Obama, Howard Dean [Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC)], other top officials of the DNC, senior campaign staff and some of his new administration should be brought into the criminal justice system, indicted and tried with incarceration for those convicted.

This letter will not work.
We may have a Constitutional crisis soon. the problem with this is that no one is responsible to check out the citizenship of an individual elected to the Presidency. The Federal Election Commission is not charged with this responsibility. It sought relief from Berg%26039;s suit because they are not responsible, and the judge let them off.
In my view, the fact that Obama did have an Indonesian passport tell me that he is not a native-born US citizen, and is therefore ineligible to be the President of the United States under the Constitutional requirements.
