Can someone tell me how to install U-joints on '02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L v8?

the front ones i guess, truck makes a chirp, chirp, chirp noise that gets higher as you speed up. someone at jiffy lube who changed my oil %26amp; lubed the truck told me the front one might be it ( cuz he said it was kinda loose). oh by the way u-joint had no grease fitting. So I wanna replace it myself. Someone please provide me instructions, or a schematic for this. Can someone tell me how to install U-joints on %26039;02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L v8?
While not a highly technical job, it will require some expertise in the fitting of the new joints.

Begin by raising the vehicle and placing it on jack stands. Remove the drive shaft by unbolting the four bolts on the differential flange. On a one piece drive shaft you would just with draw the drive line from the slip yoke where it goes into the rear of the transmission. On a two piece you would also have to remove the bolts from the center support bearing carrier.

Place the drive shaft in a suitable vise and remove the nuts from the u clips holding the u-joint. Remove the cir-clips from the u-joint end caps. Using a brass hammer drive the end caps out. Reassemble using a press. be very careful that no needle bearings are displaced or the assembly will not compress enough to get the cir-clips back in.Can someone tell me how to install U-joints on %26039;02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L v8?
you have to remove the drive shaft ,you,ll also need a vise to do this with, and find an old socket that will fit on the size of the u-joint cups, and remove the clips, then you you take and place a larger socket on the other side of the cup and press to tighten the vise up and it will press the u-joint out,you have to do this 4 times to get all 4 cups off, then to put it back you use the same sockets and press the cups back in make sure you place the u- joint so it can be greased because the new one comes with grease fittings, take your time with this and don't get in a hurry, you can do this, and remember then all four cups are pressed back in to replace the clips that help hold the u-joint in if you don't have a vise its going to be pretty hard to do this, that means you,ll have to beat them in and out,and that's not good,if you miss a lick with a hammer you can damage the drive shaft yolk, and the u-joint may not fit back in right,a good repair manual would be nice to have while doing this also, good luck with it.Can someone tell me how to install U-joints on %26039;02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L v8?
only hicks and rednecks use a hammer to remove and replace u-joints

real mechanics use a press

rule 1 never, never, never use a hammer on any bearingCan someone tell me how to install U-joints on %26039;02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 L v8?
Snap-on makes a nice ball-peen hammer; you'll need that and a nice vice on a workbench. You will also need Spicer U-joints, high temp grease, grease gun, lock tight, maybe even a acetylene torch. Or you could just take it to a good mechanic shop. Because by the time you spend the money on the tools, it will cost you as much as you檙e going to spend anyway.
