Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?

According to the National Academy of Sciences, global warming has reached a %26quot;point of no return%26quot; and is now effectively %26quot;irreversible%26quot; [QUOTE]

----------------------------------

%26quot;Global warming has reached the point of no return, a study published in the Tuesday edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences by a joint team of the U.S., French and Swiss researchers concludes. Even if the world reduces emissions of CO2 to the level before the industrial revolution, it will take at least 1,000 years to reverse the climate change effect that have already taken hold, AP on Sunday quoted the team as saying.

Dr. Susan Solomon of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Earth System Research laboratory led the study. %26quot;People have imagined that if we stopped emitting carbon dioxide the climate would go back to normal in 100 years, 200 years; that's not true,%26quot; she said, adding the effects are well nigh irreversible. %26quot;

How many 'points of no return' is that now?

And how will you celebrate this latest one?

Monster truck rally? Barbecue? Flight to the Maldives?

Dr. Susan Solomon, apparently is another idiot in the politics of this so-called debate.

Science has nothing to do with this farce.

Politics is everything!

I am lucky enough to live where I can celebrate at my wish, and I think the next bonfire will have an extra tire or two, just to make a point, and to piss off the neighbors.

Whatever I do will not have any impact on the climate no matter how hard I may try.Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
Another ad hominem attack? I'm shocked.

Time to throw another tire on the bonfire!Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
It has been warmer, within human history, and no %26quot;point of no return%26quot; was reached.

Does that mean we can't be approaching one now? No. Certainly one of the %26quot;positive feedbacks%26quot; - methane release from Arctic bogs - was less of an issue during the Holocene Maximum, because the Arctic ice cap has melted since then (it hasn't been as warm as it was during the HM, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere, but it has been warm enough during most of this period for the ice cap to continue to melt).

But it does mean that we can't just assume that we're extremely close to a %26quot;point of no return.%26quot;Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
Education and logic is key. It has been hotter on this planet before humans, and it has been cooler on this planet before humans...and it will continue to fluctuate with or without humans in the future. Whats next? The last ice age was humans fault? The entire planet during much of the dinosaur era was covered in vegetation, even at the poles....because the planet was warmer...was that because of humans? It has been proven that it was hotter during ancient Egyptian times, was that because of humans? Oh look, Venus is all screwed up, must be because our old human ancestors went over there and used non-renewable resources to destroy its atmosphere.

The climate will change no matter what. Whether if we are here or not.Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
It's amazing how, suddenly, you all seem to believe the evidence of climate change, now that it's deemed too late. It's never too late and we can adapt, ride the storm, survive the impact, but I don't know if I'd want to with you limpets weighing everything down with your medieval attitudes. A nice long drought will do you good. Throw another tire on the fire honey, we've still got a few cockroaches left to roast!Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
do you think that it could be that they're all referring to about the same time?

or is that too much of a stretch?Global warming reaches yet another point of no return - how many is that now?
This new point of no return? I think I'll celebrate by cutting down another tree.
